This week, we have explored multiplication and the different methods that we can use to multiply our numbers. Using partitioning as a strategy was useful, in order to multiply our numbers using the grid method. As well as this, we used manipulatives to represent our calculations and use mathematical language to discuss our group size, product and number of groups. This was exciting for us as it allowed us to physically show our calculation and even explore efficient strategies.

Once we were confident with this, we then used the formal written method to calculate our answer.
