The water cycle

This week, we found out that the Earth recycles its water supply through a process called the Water Cycle (also known as the Hydrological Cycle). We explored some of the main stages: evaporation, condensation, precipitation, surface runoff and collection.

In pairs, we used visual pictures to explain the process and demonstrated our understanding by acting out each stage. We really enjoyed this as the actions helped us to remember each stage and also use the correct terminology.

Towards the end of the week, we then used this information to write an explanation text about the Water Cycle. We used a range of cohesive devices to connect different ideas, causal conjunctions to give reasons and explanations and technical vocabulary to explain each stage correctly.
