Anglo-Saxon Day

On Monday, we had a visit from a time traveller to teach us all about Anglo-Saxon times.

The children got the opportunity to…

  • Create their own Anglo-Saxon letters using a quill and ink.
  • Carve runes into pieces of clay in the style of the invading Vikings.
  • Dress up and carry out activities as different Anglo-Saxon people might have.
  • Create their own Battleaxes before a reenactment of a famous battle between Mercia and Northumbria .

It was a fantastic day and we hope that we get visited by a time traveller again at some point soon!
