Anglo Saxon Day

Yesterday, Amber class had the treat of a visit from a lady from the Anglo Saxon times. She had travelled through time just to visit us. When we first met her, we talked about the kingdoms and the kings that ruled over that area of land.

We were then lucky enough to find out about how the Anglo Saxons completed writing. Interestingly, they made their own ink and paper. We then got to have a go ourselves.

We then got to put our writing skills into action. We wrote with a feather and ink in the style lettering Anglo Saxons used. We loved it!

We then got the chance to make our axes ready for the battle to finish off our exciting day.

We got to enjoy the sunshine and play some games that Anglo Saxon’s would have played. They were very different to the games we play at home now!

We even got to learn about all the different jobs Anglo Saxon’s had to do.
